IAB Report - Nissan Sunny facelift launching in early July

Nissan India will launch the refreshed Sunny sedan in early July, Indian Autos Blog was told by a source who is privy to the launch. The refreshed Sunny was showcased at the Auto Expo in February and carries many design and feature changes over the current model.

The front end of the refreshed Sunny sees new headlights and a V-shaped grille with chrome surrounds. The bumper has been revised and it gets new foglight enclosures. Apart from these changes, the wing mirrors come with integrated turn signals and the alloy wheels get a new Y-shape design to them.

The rear of the Sunny facelift gets no changes to speak of, apart from the lower portion of the bumper which gets a plastic element.

Feature wise, the refreshed Sunny gets ABS, EBD and Brake Assist as standard features. Top-end trims will get side airbags in addition to dual front ones. The music system gets the addition of Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port, while the center console is finished in a piano black color.

The Sunny facelift will see no mechanical changes.

Mechanically, there are no changes to the refreshed Sunny. The petrol variant is offered with a 1.5-liter engine producing 99 PS and 134 Nm of torque, while the diesel's 1.5-liter engine produces 86 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The diesel comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the petrol comes with a 5-speed manual and CVT (in which case the power output is 101 PS).
