The upcoming Mercedes-Benz MLC has been rendered by our inhouse artist Shoeb in its production-ready avatar.
The MLC will go head to head with the BMW X6 and the upcoming Audi Q6. The MLC is a crossover between an SUV and a Coupe and will be manufactured in Alabama, USA, where the ML and GL Class are made.
The company has confirmed that the MLC would make its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show on Sunday. The coupe-SUV will be built on the existing M-Class' platform and will find its biggest markets in USA and China.
The company had issued one official image for the vehicle and the rendering here takes its cues from that picture. Seen in the rendering is what has now come to be a standard Mercedes-Benz grille, with the GLA like headlamps straddling it. Large airdams and a sloping roofline give the car a unique stance.
The MLC might very well follow the path laid down by the GL-Class with AMG variants following soon after the launch.
It is being widely reported that the MLC will commence selling during the second half of 2015, almost a year after BMW's second-generation X6, its chief rival, makes its debut at the upcoming Moscow Motor Show in August.
