SML Isuzu will launch an upgraded model in its XM-Series of trucks and buses on 18th January in New Delhi. The notification from the company also states that there will be other new models in the XTM series of trucks.
Launched on December 29th 2013, the XM-series includes trucks like Cosmo-XM, Super 12.9 XM, Samrat HD 19 XM, Samrat Tipper XM, and the S7 buses. The company calls the new truck the "New Super 12.9 XM," indicating that it will be an upgrade to the existing 12.9 GVM truck that SML Isuzu retails in india.
The existing Super 12.9 XM truck is powered by a BS III compliant 3.5-liter engine that produces 100 hp and has a peak torque output of 315 Nm. The power steering equipped Super 12.9 XM comes in half deck, high deck and cabin chassis configurations.
It is likely that the Super 12.9 XM might get an upgrade in its engine to make it BS IV compliant, thereby expanding the areas it could be sold in. SML Isuzu already has a BS IV compliant CRDI version of the same 3.5-liter engine in the present Super 12.9 XM that does duty in other products in the XM range.
Watch out for our updates from tomorrow's launch for more info.
