GMC’s version of the new Chevrolet Colorado (LA Auto Show 2013 premiere) has been officially unveiled at the NAIAS 2014. The 2015 GMC Canyon features a bold front fascia with a unique grille, projector headlamps and C-shaped LED daytime running lights. Also featuring are the CornerStep rear bumper and distinctively designed taillamps.
If customers seek more visual aggression, an All-Terrain package can be ordered and that gives the truck a new grille, suspension and 17-inch all-terrain aluminium wheels.
The interior is familiar to those who’ve sat in the 2015 Colorado with a console-mounted gear shifter and a 4.2-inch information display. Optional extras include heated leather seats, infotainment system, Wi-Fi hotspot, lane departure warning and forward collision alert.
Three engines are announced : a 2.5-liter four-cylinder motor producing 193 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, a 3.6-liter V6 churning out 302 bhp and 366 Nm of torque and a 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine for 2016.
An extended cab model fitted with a six-foot bed, a crew cab model with a five-foot bed and with a six-foot bed constitute the variant plans.
Prices and detailed specifications will be available during the launch later this year.
