Indian Autos Blog has come to know from an official source that the market launch is planned in the September-October period. At its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo, Skoda announced that it would come in the second half of the year.
The Yeti facelift made its international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year. For the facelifted model, Skoda branched the Yeti into two variants named Outdoor and Style. The Outdoor variant gets design elements such as silver-colored skid plates, under-ride protection and plastic side moldings, and it is this variant that will launch in India.
The 2014 Yeti gets redesigned headlights, Skoda's new family grille, new bumpers and re-profiled taillights. All trim levels of the Yeti facelift will come equipped with LED daytime running lights, bi-xenon headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels and cruise control.
The refreshed Yeti will continue using the current model's 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine. The engine is offered in two power states of 110 PS and 140 PS. The 110 PS variant makes 250 Nm of torque, gets a 5-speed manual gearbox and is front wheel drive only. The 140 PS variant churns 320 Nm of torque and uses a 6-speed manual gearbox to send power to all four wheels.
