As we reported last month, Skoda India will launch the refreshed 2014 Superb in the first quarter of this year. The facelifted Superb was unveiled in Europe in April last year, with sales and deliveries commencing soon after.
Skoda India have now begun teasing the refreshed Superb through popular social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter, hinting that the launch is not far away. We expect to see the 2014 Superb at the Auto Expo next month, and the company could also announce the prices of the car at the same event.
The refreshed Superb can be easily identified thanks to its new headlights which come with integrated LED daytime running lights. The redesigned grille now resembles other Skoda cars such as the 2014 Yeti and the new Octavia, while the front bumper and foglights receive minor design tweaks.
At the rear, the Superb will now be seen with a pair of redesigned taillights with LED stop lights. Designers have also moved the registration plate enclosure to the bootlid (earlier located on the bumper). The bootlid will continue to feature the dual opening mechanism, though we hear that on the next generation model, Skoda will delete this feature.
Mechanically, we expect the facelifted Superb to continue using the 1.8-liter TSI engine and 2.0-liter TDI motor.
