Our friends at Team BHP report that Skoda Auto India will launch the refreshed Superb in January or February next year. Unveiled in Europe in April this year, Skoda India commenced road tests of the updated sedan soon after.
The refreshed Superb now gets Skoda's new family grille and a pair of all-new headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper gets a minor revision, while the rear bumper has been extensively modified. The registration plate, which was earlier located in the bumper, has been moved up to the bootlid of the car. The taillights also feature a new design and come with LED stop lights. Completing the exterior changes are a set of newly designed alloy wheels.
Inside, the refreshed Superb gets an updated steering wheel (which is available in nine designs to choose from in Europe). The fabrics and upholstery get a redesign and are available in multiple color combinations for the European market.
In India, Skoda will continue to offer the Superb with the 1.8-liter TSI engine and the 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG for the petrol and a 6-speed DSG for the diesel. The Superb range in India starts from INR 18.56 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and we expect the refreshed model to have minor price revisions.
