JLR India has confirmed its lineup at the Auto Expo tomorrow. Land Rover will announce the 2014 Discovery facelift and the 2014 model year Range Rover Evoque with the 9-speed transmission at the show tomorrow. Both these cars had their public premieres at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year.
The updated Discovery gets a refreshed front fascia with re-profiled headlights, LED daytime running lights, a new grille and the 'Discovery' badging on the bonnet (it was earlier 'Land Rover'). Two new alloy wheel designs are inducted in the options list.
Mechanically, the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine is fine-tuned to emit fewer CO2 emissions, while fuel economy has also increased (according to EU tests). The gearbox is now the updated 8-speed ZF transmission.
Coming to the Evoque, the 2014 model sees various exterior and interior enhancements such as new alloy wheels, new detailing around the fenders, added interior colors, Wade Sensing System and Traffic Sign Recognition. The major change lies in the gearbox as the Evoque now comes with a ZF-developed 9-speed transmission.
Thanks to the new transmission, fuel efficiency sees an improvement by 11.4 percent, while emissions are reduced by 9.5 percent.
