Ford Brazil has been proactive in updating the EcoSport consistently. On the heels of variant and technology introductions since the launch last year, Ford's Brazilian dealers can now look forward to the '2014 1/2' model with a few visual changes at the fag end of the year.
As this scanned parts catalog posted on AutosSegredos.com.br reveals, Freestyle and Titanium variants get an all-black air conditioner grille and central panel in place of the contrasting brushed metal finish. Cruise control and restyled 15-inch rims are planned for the SE Powershift (Automatic) variant. These updates give the Brazilian and European EcoSports something more in common.
According to the Brazilian report, production of the updated EcoSport begins in November at Ford's Bahia plant, retaining the current mechanical package. The EcoSport is offered in a total of 10 variants, with 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter displacements, paired to 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions, driving either the front wheels or all four wheels.
