The 2014 Toyota Harrier, a rebadged variant of the Lexus RX, was launched in the Japanese market last week. Today, the car receives its motor show premiere.
Deliveries of the Harrier will begin on the 2nd of December. The vehicle is powered by 2-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that is matched to a CVT, sending power through a two-wheel drive system, or an optional four-wheel drive system. The mill develops 151 hp and a peak torque of 193 Nm, helping the car to a fuel efficiency of 16 kmpl in the JCO8 cycle (Japanese driving cycle).
From January 15, 2014, the Japanese can have their Harrier in the hybrid version which gets a bigger 2.5-liter engine that develops a combined power output of 196 hp and 206 Nm. The Harrier Hybrid will come only in a 4WD variant, and achieves a fuel efficiency of 21.8 kpl.
Features on the new Harrier include wireless charging, powered hatch, a new multi-information display and a moonroof.
The 2014 Toyota Harrier is priced starting at 2,720,000 JPY (17.09 lakh rupees) for the basic gasoline model and from 3,610,000 JPY (22.68 lakh rupees) for the hybrid variant. A total of eight variants have been introduced.
