The Etios is a well-equipped sedan, which will be on sale in both petrol and diesel variants. 89hp 1.5-liter gasoline and a 67hp 1.4-litre diesel engine are introduced with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The powertrain options are same as India and it is also to be noted that the diesel Etios is manufactured only in India.
The big boot and acres of legroom is a welcome feature of the Etios along with the Toyota’s reliability. The complexity of fuel grade is also managed by making the petrol engine flexfuel capable, like in Brazil.
Argentina’s auto market is a fast growing one and a practical and reliable product like Etios will be a perfect match for it. Whether it is the private daily use or the restless runs of fleet owners, Etios is pretty sure to fulfil all their needs.
The Sorocaba plant in Brazil is most likely to be the godfather for the Argentina bound Etios but it remains to be seen whether the diesel variants will be introduced in the country.
Practical, reliable, efficient and decent value, only if priced right, the Etios can be the right car for El Maestro’s home at the right time!
