Volkswagen has showcased its smallest SUV offering, the Volkswagen T-Roc, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, in the R-Line trim. Here are the SUV’s live images from the show.
Unveiled in August this year, the Volkswagen T-Roc’s design language is similar to the VW Tiguan, the VW Tiguan Allspace and the VW Atlas/VW Teramont. The compact-class crossover is based on the MQB platform. Its dimensions are 4,234 mm in length, 1,819 mm in width and 1,573 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2,603 mm. The 445-litre boot space is expandable up to 1,290 litres by folding the rear seat backrests.

On the outside, the T-Roc features LED headlights, ring-shaped LED DRLs with a turn signal function, silver skid plate, contrasting colour on the roof, A-pillars and ORVM housings, 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers, LED tail lights, chrome exhaust trim and rear diffuser.

When it comes to interior features, the VW T-Roc is equipped with 11.7-inch Active Info Display (virtual instrument cluster); Discovery Media infotainment system with glass-encased 8.0-inch display and navigation; Apple CarPlay; Android Auto and MirrorLink; wireless charging for smartphones; 300-watt, an 8-channel sound system by Beats, and ambient lighting.
The R-Line package adds a sportier rear diffuser, dark red LED taillights and a black lower intake. Bumpers are redesigned for aggression, and the car is hoisted on 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels. The car gets the R-Line badge on the front and fenders, welcome screen and doorsill trim. The headliner is in black, and there is contrast stitching on the floor mats, gearshift boot, seats and center armrest. Topping off the sporty look is a set of stainless steel pedals with a matching footrest. The mechanical carriage is the same as the stock vehicle.
Standard safety features include, Automatic Post-Collision Braking System; active lane keeping system; lane assist; front assist area monitoring system with pedestrian monitoring, and City Emergency Braking. The T-Roc is available in three petrol and three diesel engine options with a combination of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG. The drivetrain options are either FWD or AWD. In the European market, the pre-orders for the Volkswagen T-Roc commence this month followed by the market launch in November. The T-Roc will play in the €20,000 class segment in Germany.
