Nissan has relaunched the Datsun brand for India, Indonesia and Russia to make affordable, spacious, fuel efficient and accessible cars.
A whole family of Datsun models will be developed for first time car buyers, motorists moving up from two wheelers as well as serve a modern car as an alternative to antiquated products (by this he means cars like 800, Alto and Santro that have been running for many decades in some cases).
The first Datsun will come out in 2014 from Renault-Nissan JV facility in Oragadam, Chennai followed by the second product within the first year.
