To be produced in limited numbers.
The Vauxhall Vivaro Surf Concept (and the Opel Vivaro Surf Concept) have been put on show at the 2015 IAA (Frankfurt Motor Show). To be put in production as a limited edition, the Surf Concept of the Vauxhall Vivaro van is a vacation-specific version accommodating six people and a bulk of luggage. The Vivaro Surf will compete with camper vans like Volkswagen California.
Similar to the Vivaro Crew Cab van, the Vauxhall Vivaro Surf Concept gets two side sliding doors which open up to two rows of seating that can accommodate up to six passengers. There is space underneath the second row seats which is utilised with a storage box capable of containing small items.
The third compartment, the main cargo section at the rear which has 3.2 cubic metres (3,200 litres) of cargo volume, is given a rail system and blue ambient lighting. Roof racks are also provided to enable carriage of bikes and surfboards.
The interior of the Vauxhall Vivaro Surf Concept gets car-like treatment, featuring a host of equipment and trims. The Irmscher Tourer Pack which is offered on the regular Vivaro as an optional add-on, is standard on the Surf Concept. It adds leather accents on the dashboard and gear lever, and leather upholstery for the seats. There are Velour floor mats on the limited edition which help dampen the noise levels. The tech-bits include Vauxhall's IntelliLink sat-nav and infotainment and automatic climate control.
The Vauxhall Vivaro Surf Concept is powered by the 1.6-litre BiTurbo CDTI diesel engine that produces 140 PS of maximum power. The suspension system features air-shocks as standard equipment, which lowers the overall height of the van enabling it to be parked under a good number of height-restricted parking facilities.
