After making its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2014, UM Motorcycles today launched three models for the Indian market.
The Renegade range consists of the Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and the Renegade Classic. All three models share the same 279 cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine that produces 25 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. All models are mated to a six-speed transmission.
The Renegade Commando is priced at INR 1.59 lakh (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and is equipped with wide handlebars, hydraulic telescopic front suspension and spring rear suspension.
As for the other models, both the Renegade Sport S, which made its debut at the 2015 EICMA in Milan, and the Renegade Commando come with an electric start and include an air filter set up along with the above mentioned engine specifications. Both vehicles get telescopic suspension at the front while the rear gets a dual shock suspension setup.
The Renegade Sport S is priced at INR 1.49 lakhs and the Renegade Classic is priced at INR 1.69 lakhs (both prices ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
The American manufacturer has tied up with Indian manufacturer Lohia Auto to locally produce their models at a manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand.
