UM recently inaugurated their third dealership in Delhi, bringing the pan-India number to 37.
UM Global showcased three products at the 2016 Auto Expo. In a telephonic conversation with Indian Autos Blog, Mr Rajeev Mishra, Director operations UM India & CEO at UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt Ltd revealed that the UM Renegade Classic deliveries from May 2017 onwards.
While UM started accepting bookings for the Renegade Sport S and Commando immediately, the Renegade Classic was scheduled for a later date. Positioned as a range-topping model, the UM Renegade Classic is powered by the same 279 cc water cooled, single cylinder mill which is capable of producing 25 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 had telescopic forks up front and twin springs in the rear. The fuel tank can store 18 litre of fuel. Brakes include a 280 mm disc with a 2 piston caliper and a drum setup in the rear.

The engine though is expected to be fuel injected as against the carburetted version seen in the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S. The UM Renegade Classic is also expected to be introduced only with BSIV compliance.
Mr Mishra also told us that bookings for the UM Renegade Classic will begin in April. At the Expo, UM had announced the Classic to be priced at INR 1.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) but a price hike of a few thousand rupees cannot be ruled out.
