The rumoured Toyota Rise has leaked online, and it's actually called 'Toyota Raize'. The sub-compact SUV will have its world premiere in early-November this year. The Toyota Raize shares its body panels, underpinnings, engine and interior bits with the recently revealed Daihatsu Rocky.

Toyota Raize Front End
The Toyota Raize shares its underpinnings with the Daihatsu Rocky.

The Toyota Raize is differentiated from the Daihatsu Rocky with its unique exterior styling which also look slightly premium in comparison to the latter. The Raize features the signature Toyota styled large trapezoidal grille with mesh inserts, and this makes it look like a min-RAV4 SUV. The grille is further complemented by a high-set Toyota logo. Other than this, it gets LED daytime running lamps, fog lamps with circular housing and a horizontal LED strip above the fog lamps. The headlamp design is very similar to that of the Daihatsu Rocky's. Similarities do not end there as it also gets similar sized 17-inch alloy wheels, albeit with a different design.

The Toyota Raize features an upright stance similar to a traditional SUV. It has been engineered on Toyota’s flexible and low-cost DNGA platform. This platform has been specifically made for emerging markets. Inside, the Raize will make use of the Rocky's interior comprising the same in-cabin design, with a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system placed above the centre console. Speaking of the centre console, it is entirely driver-centric and has slim hexagonal theme for AC vents and buttons for climate control. It also makes use of the same three-spoke steering wheel as the Daihatsu cousin.

Toyota Raize Compact Suv
The Toyota Raize employs a 1.0-litre three-cylinder, 12-valve turbo-petrol engine which is rated to deliver 98 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 140.2 Nm of torque at 2,400-4,000 rpm.

The Toyota Raize is expected to have dimensions similar to those of the Daihatsu Rocky which measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,695 mm in height, 1,620 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,525 mm. In terms of mechanicals, the Raize gets a 1.0-litre three-cylinder, 12-valve turbo-petrol engine which is rated to deliver 98 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 140.2 Nm of torque at 2,400-4,000 rpm. The engine will be initially mated to a CVT as standard, and a 6-speed MT option will be introduced later.
