The dedicated website of the Toyota Glanza we saw in its leaked teaser video is now live. Also, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has created the new model's separate social media account on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Toyota Glanza Website
The Glanza is the first many badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki models to come from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

The Glanza is Toyota's version of the Maruti Baleno, with minuscule cosmetic tweaks. It is expected to feature a unique radiator grille, differently designed bumper and slightly tweaked headlamps. Elsewhere, the differences may revolve around only the branding. On the sides, for instance, the 16-inch alloy wheels are the same, but with Toyota centre caps. At the rear, too, any major visual changes are unlikely. Inside, too, the design should be the same as that of the donor car.

The Toyota Glanza is said to be available with only the K12M 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that was upgraded to BS-VI this month. It produces 61 kW (81.94 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Expect a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT to send drive to the front wheels. The fuel economy delivered should be the same as that of the Maruti Baleno: 21.01 km/l (MT)19.56 km/l (CVT).

The Toyota Glanza will be manufactured at Suzuki's Gujarat plant initially.

The Toyota Glanza will only be limited to just two grades: G and V. These are expected to be the equivalent of the Maruti Baleno's Zeta and Alpha grades respectively. Suzuki will manufacture the Toyota Glanza in Gujarat initially, but the production will move to one of Toyota Kirloskar Motor's plants in Karnataka eventually, allowing the latter to utilise its idle production capacity and the former to focus on Maruti Suzuki sales and shipments to overseas markets.

The Toyota Glanza's launch is said to take place on 6 June.
