Toyota has launched the 'Platinum edition' on the Etios hatchback and sedan in the Brazilian market. Based on the top-end XLS variant, the Platinum edition brings about a few extra features on the outside and inside.
On the outside, the Platinum Etios twins get 15-inch polished diamond-cut alloy wheels seen on the Etios Cross in India. Towards the rear, a 'Platinum' badge and reverse parking sensors are also to be found. Inside, the cars get leatherette seat covers with Etios branding and chrome inserts for the AC vents and door handles.
The Etios sold in South America comes with a piano-black center console, and the same is offered in India on the Etios Cross variant. There are no mechanical changes to these cars although the Platinum edition is available only with the 1.5-liter engine option (the Etios is also sold with a 1.3-liter engine in South America).
The Etios Platinum is priced at 47,090 Reals (INR 12.69 lakhs) for the hatchback and 49,790 Reals (INR 13.42 lakhs) for the sedan. The vehicles have already arrived at dealerships according to the local media.
The Etios is made at Toyota's Sorocaba plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which recently commemorated the making of the 100,000th Etios.
