Toyota has launched a sportier looking version of the Camry in the Malaysian market. Called the Toyota Camry 2.0 G X, the 'X' stands for 'Exquisite Luxury', according to the company.
On the outside, the X variant gets smoked lenses for its headlights and taillights, while the side profile is enhanced thanks to 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. Designers have also given the sedan a comprehensive bodykit which sees the addition of bumper spoilers at the front and rear, side skirts and a tiny boot spoiler.
Inside, Toyota has given the Camry X additional features in the form of leather upholstery in a darker shade, power rear sun blind, manual sun blinds for the rear windows, 'X' branded carpets, a 7-inch infotainment screen which supports DVD and Bluetooth apart from doubling up as the reverse monitor and a navigation system.
Power for the Camry X comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with Toyota's VVT-i which produces 148 PS at 6,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The top-end Camry in Malaysia is powered by a 2.5-liter petrol engine mated to a 6-speed autobox, which is the same configuration used by the Camry sold in India.
The Camry X is priced at 159,900 Malaysian Ringgit (INR 29.17 lakhs).
