To hit the showrooms across Europe from February 2016.
Toyota has unveiled a new x-clusiv special edition of the Aygo A-segment hatchback, at the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2015). The update is said to add an extra layer of sophistication to the model line-up.
The exterior of the new Toyota Aygo x-clusiv special edition features a fresh Electro Grey body colour, Silver Sparkle accents on the frontal “X” graphic, trims for the front fenders, inserts for the rear bumper, machine-faced finished 15-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheels, a black canvas top, a Silver Sparkle centre cap, a Piano Black centre cap ring, a chrome waist line and privacy glass (dark tinted rear windows).
The interior of the upgraded Aygo x-clusiv features the same Electro Grey accents for the air-conditioner vent surrounds, centre console and gear rod surround. The Silver Sparkle is employed on the instrument cluster, and the inside door handles are coated in chrome.
The Toyota Aygo special edition can be ordered with the ‘Toyota Safety Sense’ package, which is a newly put-together set of active safety systems. It includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS) that detects other vehicles in front while driving at speeds of about 10 to 80 km/h and reduces the chances of hitting them by slowing down the car to around 30 km/h or to a complete stop.
There is also a Lane Departure Alert (LDA) system that monitors lane markings and warns the driver of unintended deviation in path across lanes.
The Aygo hatchback is powered by a Euro 6 compliant 1.0-litre 3-cylinder VVT-i petrol engine that delivers 26.31 km/l of fuel economy and 88 g/km of CO2 emissions. The engine is mated to a manual transmission or ‘x-shift’ Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
