As Tata Motors is getting ready to launch the Tata Zest in the home market, the diesel variants of the Manza and Vista have been launched in the Philippines, called as the Tata Vista Ignis and Tata Manza Aura.
The India-made Tata Manza and Vista with the 1.4-litre Safire petrol engines are already on sale in the country. The diesel variants are powered by the 1.3-litre QuadraJet motor which is sourced from Fiat (MultiJet).
The diesel engine generates 75 PS (73.9 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque under the hood of the Vista Ignis. In the Manza Aura sedan, the engine uses a VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) to pump out 90 PS (88.7 bhp) and 200 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission drives the front wheels in both cars. The India-spec cars are also available in the same states of tune.
The diesel variants were showcased during the inauguration of new Tata Motors outlet in Ortigas Extension, Cainta. The cars will be sold through Tata Motors' official distributor for Philippines, the Pilipinas Taj Group.
The Tata Vista Ignis diesel is priced at PhP 678,000 (around INR 9.40 lakhs) and the Tata Manza Aura diesel retails at PhP 738,000 (around INR 10.23 lakhs).
