Autocar India reports that Tata Motors will equip all of the Tiago Aktiv accessories on the regular model and ship them directly from the factory as a fully built 'crossover', apart from individually offering and fitting the accessories at a dealership.
Tata has received a good response for the Tiago Aktiv accessories, which cost INR 30,000 in total for the roof rails, alloy wheels, graphics and black plastic lower bumpers with silver skid plates. It was revealed in a completely built form at the Auto Expo 2016, showcasing the personalization options available to the customer. The factory-built Tata Tiago Activ will be made to order or produced in small batches reportedly. Should the demand pick up further, Tata may consider putting it into regular production.
No changes will be made to the engine lineup. The Tiago Aktiv is available with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine that produces 85 PS & 114 Nm, and a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq engine with 70 PS & 140 Nm. Both are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
So far, Tata has received 20,000 bookings for the Tata Tiago since its launch in April. It was launched at INR 3.2-4.75 lakhs for the petrol and INR 3.94-5.54 lakhs for the diesel (both ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
