Tata Motors is planning to ramp up production of the Nexon to bring down waiting period for the compact SUV reports Moneycontrol. Currently, buyers have to wait around three months to get their hands on the Tata Nexon.
The company has produced 3,000 units on an average of the Tata Nexon per month over the course of the last couple of months, which is lower than their target of 5,500-6,000 units a month. Speaking to Moneycontrol news, a Senior Company executive said -
We accept that we could not ramp up Nexon production in the run-up to the launch of the vehicle and immediately after that. But those issues are getting sorted out now and we will go full speed ahead.
The company is betting big on the Nexon. Tata is confident of achieving monthly sales of around 6,000 units. During the last six weeks, the Tata Nexon amassed nearly 15,000 bookings. It is averaging around 350 bookings a day added the company executive. The increase in production should help clear some of the pending orders and help give sales a boost.
In October 2017, total sales of the Tata Nexon stood at 3,099, much higher than the Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport. This number will go up once production increases.
