To be revealed in a month.
Autocar India reports that the Tata Kite hatchback is expected to be priced from INR 3.6 lakhs. The company has started teasing the hatchback through a video, before its anticipated reveal next month.
Sharing platform and some components from the Tata Indica, the Tata 'Kite 4’ (hatchback) and the Tata ‘Kite 5’ (compact sedan) will be powered by brand new petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor is an all-new naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that is developed in-house. It gets noise reducing and lower maintenance technologies like roller finger followers and hydraulic lash adjusters, and is expected to produce around 84 bhp of maximum power and 108 Nm of peak torque. This engine could be branded as the second product in the Revotron series.

The diesel version will be powered by the 1.05-litre three-cylinder engine which was premiered through the Tata Manza Hybrid Concept at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. It is a three-cylinder interpretation of the four-cylinder 1,405 cc diesel motor, featuring a stiffer engine block, counterbalancing shafts and friction reducing measures. The power and torque figures are expected to be around 67 bhp and 137 Nm, with a mileage claim of over 25 km/l.
