The Ssanyong Rexton enjoys a sizeable reputation in Russia for its affordable price and a long equipment list.
Autonavigator.ru reports that a rear wheel drive variant of the Rexton will be launched in Russia in October. Currently, the Russia spec Rexton is available only in four wheel drive version and the new entry level variant is aimed at widening the audience base.
The rear wheel drive Rexton can be specified either with a manual or an automatic gearbox. The decent equipment list includes ABS, front and side airbags, automatic climate control, color centre display, electric windows, electric folding ORVMS and heated seats.
In comparison, the top of the line model offers all the above mentioned features in addition to ESP, roof mounted spoiler with LED brake light, rain sensing wipers, reverse parking sensors and 2-DIN music system with USB connectivity and steering mounted controls. Optional extras include aircon vents for the third row passengers, 18" alloy wheels, cruise control, powered driver seat with memory, electric steering and wooden inserts for the cabin.
The entry level rear wheel drive variant with manual gearbox will be priced at 1,229,000 Rubles (around Rs. 22.25 lakhs) while the automatic version will retail at 1,279,000 rubles (around Rs. 23.15 lakhs).
