Skoda has released yet another video of the Rapid for the European markets. We have already seen a sizzling footage the first time the Rapid was shown on the web.
The Moodfilm released this week concentrates on the new design principles of the Skoda brand.
Based on the MissionL and VisionD concept, the European Rapid is a more interesting design compared to the Indian model. The design changes are not just limited to the car's front fascia, but a large part of the interiors and the car's rear have been reworked to give it the feel of a new car.
Skoda India has not commented on this vehicle's introduction, but when we met Mr Thomas Kuehl at the Skoda Superb Ambition launch, he did not rule out the possibility of its Indian launch.
The Euro Rapid's low-end model gets a 1.2 litre engine that produces 74 hp fitted paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2 liter TSI engine can be bought in two avatars - 84hp/103hp. The more powerful 1.4TSI delivers 122hp and 200Nm of torque, driven via a 7-speed DSG box.
The 1.6-liter CRDI engine, offered here in India, comes in two tuning states for Europe - 90hp/230 Nm and 105hp/250Nm.
