At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March, the Skoda Kodiaq L&K celebrated its world premiere. Its Indian launch will take place in December, says a fresh report from CarWale.
L&K is Skoda’s branding for its range-topping equipment line, named in honour of its founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement. The Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb are already available in this grade in our market.
A chrome grille, exclusive Laurin & Klement badges, unique 19-inch Sirius alloy wheels finished in anthracite, model-specific bumpers and body-coloured under-door panels emphasise the stylish appearance of the Skoda Kodiaq L&K.
Inside, the top-of-the-line Skoda Kodiaq has black or beige leather upholstery with the Laurin & Klement logo embroidered on the seat backrests, Piano Black decorative strip carrying the Laurin & Klement badge on the dashboard and infotainment system home screen with the Laurin & Klement branding.
Full-LED headlights, electrically adjustable driver’s seat including memory function, aluminium pedals, ambient lighting, Columbus infotainment system and 550-watt, 10-speaker Canton sound system are some of the main features of the Skoda Kodiaq L&K. The equipment offered in India may differ a little, particularly in case of the infotainment system.
Internationally, the L&K grade marked the rollout of the Volkswagen Group’s omnipresent 150 PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine and the maximum power of the 2.0-litre TSI engine going up from 180 PS to 190 PS. The engine range includes the 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit in 150 PS and 190 PS versions as well. In India, Skoda may offer the 150 PS 2.0-litre TDI engine, a 7-speed DSG and an AWD system as standard.
The Skoda Kodiaq L&K could cost somewhere between INR 35-38 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
