Land Rover launched the locally assembled Range Rover Evoque in India at a starting price of INR 48.73 lakh, making the model the fourth to be assembled in India alongside the Freelander 2, Jaguar XJ and Jaguar XF. In just under 4 years of operation, the production at the company's Pune plant has tripled. JLR, however, did not reveal the localization levels of the Evoque range.
The Evoque comes in three trims: Pure, Dynamic, and Prestige. While the Pure starts at INR 48.73 lakh, the Dynamic costs INR 52.40 lakh, and the Prestige costs INR 56.21 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai (pre-Octroi). Prior to the assembly, the Evoque was priced at INR 59.49 lakh to INR 67.81 lakh.
Deliveries are expected to begin early in April 2015. All derivatives come with an automatic transmission and include features like front and rear Parking sensors with rear view camera, navigation system, fixed panoramic sunroof and Land Rover’s state of the art Terrain Response System as standard equipment. All models will be powered by a 2.2-liter SD4 engine that makes 191.7 hp at 3,500 rpm and produces a peak torque of 420 Nm at 2,000 rpm.
Earlier this month, the 2016 Range Rover Evoque (facelift) was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show though that isn't the model which is assembled. It was also recently reported that Tata Motors will make use of the Evoque's design to influence the production Tata Nexon.
