First global product by Proton.
The Proton P2-30A which is reported to be branded as the Proton Iriz or Aero has been officially revealed. The Malaysian automaker is now teasing its first global model through a dedicated microsite.
The company has also kick started promotional contests suggesting that the launch is just around the bend. The hatchback, which would go on sale worldwide starting from Malaysia, was spied testing in the country a number of times.
The previous leaks indicate that the Hyundai i10 rival is powered by 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre VVT petrol engines, mated to a manual or automatic transmission. The compact car has passed the ASEAN-NCAP crash test with 5-star ratings, thanks to a long list of safety equipment such as six airbags, ABS, ABD, Vehicle Dynamic Control, TCS, BA, HHA, etc.
The teaser images shows it having projector headlamps, touchscreen multimedia infotainment system with Bluetooth, Navigation and reverse parking camera. The Engine start/stop button is another noteworthy feature.

The Iriz with its compact dimensions, good quality and modern design has the European small car market in its sight.
