Nissan launches Kicks XE (diesel) variant at INR 9.89 lakh

Nissan India has launched the Kicks XE (diesel) variant at a price tag of INR 9.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The XE variant will now serve as the new base diesel variant in the Kicks. The Kick XE trim will only be sold along with the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. With the addition of this variant, the Kicks (diesel) base variant is now more affordable to buy.

The rest of the Kicks diesel trims, namely XL, XV and XV Pre, have seen a price hike of INR 24,000, INR 2,000 and INR 4,000, respectively. The earlier top-of-the-line Kick XV Pre Option have been merged with the lower XV Pre variant and now offers all the top grade features at almost INR 1 lakh less cost.

Starting off with the new XE variant, it has the similar feature package which was earlier available in the XL variant. The standard features on the XE variant include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, automatic climate control with a rear AC vent, a 2-DIN audio system that comes with Aux, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and four speakers, and a cooled glovebox. Other than this, the XE variant includes the NissanConnect technology pack.

The Kicks XL variant has received Vehicle Dynamic Control, bigger 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, roof rails, steering-mounted audio controls, Eco driving mode and also an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-enabled.

The next in the lineup is the mid-spec Kicks XV which get new additions in the form of hill-start assist, keyless entry, LED projector headlamps, cruise control, power-folding/adjustable wing mirrors and two tweeters.

The top-of-the-line Kicks XV Pre variant gets the same feature package as seen on the earlier present XV Pre Option variant, which means that it now comes with additional features such as automatic headlamps and wipers, cornering lamps, side airbags (upping the total count to four), black-brown dual-tone interiors, leather seats and dashboard trim and a rear fog lamp.

Nissan Kicks comes in seven single tone colours options: Pearl White, Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Fire Red, Amber Orange, Deep Blue Pearl, Night Shade, and four dual-tone colours: Fire Red and Onyx Black, Bronze Grey and Amber Orange, Pearl White and Onyx Black, and Pearl White and Amber Orange. The dual-tone shades are only available in the top-spec XV Pre variant.
