Nissan Kicks brochure leaked online ahead of 22 January launch

Brochure scans of the Indian-spec Nissan Kicks have leaked online ahead of the launch on the 22nd of this month. The official document reveals that the new Hyundai Creta rival will go on sale in four trim levels- XL, XV, XV Pre and XV Pre (O).

The entry-level grade of the Nissan Kicks will be kitted out with features like LED DRLs, height-adjustable driver's seat, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with turn indicators, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-IN compatibility. The standard safety kit across all trims comprises ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors and a rear defogger.

The top-spec XV Pre Option grade features first-in-segment features like dual-zone climate control and 360-degree outside camera, along with four airbags, hill-start assist, smart key card, auto headlamps, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, multi-function steering wheel and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While all the grades will be available in Pearl White, Blade Silver, Bronze Grey, Amber Orange, Deep Blue Pearl, Night Shade and Fire Red colours, the XV Pre Option trim will be available in optional dual-tone paint finishes as well: white/orange, white/black, grey/orange and red/black.

The Nissan Kicks will be sold with two engine options - 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel. While the former outputs 106 PS and 142 Nm, the latter produces 110 PS and 240 Nm. The petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel engine channels power to the wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. As per the official document, the petrol engine model will have a fuel economy rating of 14.23 km/l, while the diesel engine model's fuel economy will be 20.45 km/l (XL)/19.39 km/l (XV/XV Pre/XV Pre Option).

Prices of the Nissan Kicks are expected to start at around INR 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The new premium B-SUV will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross and Renault Captur.
