Tata Motors today launched the new Tiago JTP and the new Tigor JTP in India. The upgraded models come with new features but they have no mechanical changes.
The first upgrade the JTP models have received is the inclusion of auto fold outside mirrors for more convenience. The Tata Tigor JTP now looks sportier, thanks to a piano black shark fin antenna having replaced the pole antenna. Inside, the Tata Tigor JTP and Tata Tiago JTP both come with a new, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The latter has gained an automatic climate control system as well. This feature was already available in the sedan.
The Tata Tiago JTP and Tata Tigor JTP share a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 114 PS at 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 2,000-4,000 rpm. This engine comes linked to a 5-speed manual transmission with revised gear ratios. A lower ride height, revised steering, performance-oriented exhaust system and wider tyres also chip in to deliver a more dynamic driving experience compared to the standard cars.
The Tata Tiago JTP can accelerate from nought to 100 km/h in 9.95 seconds, while the Tata Tigor JTP can do the same in 10.38 seconds. The hatchback now retails at INR 6.69 lakh*, as opposed to INR 6.39 lakh* before the upgrade. The sedan is now priced at INR 7.59 lakh*, as opposed to INR 7.49 lakh* formerly.

The new Tata Tiago JTP and new Tata Tigor JTP will be sold from selected dealerships located in the following cities - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Thane and Thrissur.
