Special edition Freelander gets a sporty exterior.
Land Rover India today launched a special edition on the Freelander 2 which will be phased out next year. Called the Sterling Edition, it sees the SUV getting a few exterior updates.
Additional features come in the form of 17-inch Five-Split Spoke alloy wheels with anthracite finish, a dark 'atlas' grille with a dark atlas fender and side vents, a tailgate spoiler, front and rear aprons, lower door claddings and a single exhaust with a bright finish.
The Sterling Edition will be available in limited numbers and is priced at INR 44.41 lakhs, ex-Showroom Mumbai, pre-Octroi. The car celebrates Land Rover's 5-year presence in India, says the company.
There are no mechanical changes, and the Sterling Edition continues to be powered by the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which produces 147 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission sending drive to all wheels. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11.2 seconds and achieves a top-speed of 181 km/h.
