A day after revealing the Lada Vesta sedan concept, the AvtoVAZ-owned Russian car maker has taken the veil off the Lada Vesta WTCC concept based on the Vesta at the 2014 Moscow International Auto Salon (2014 Moscow Motor Show).
Though the company hasn't revealed its racing schedule for its latest WTCC contender, the race car is expected to hit the track for the 2015 season.
Finished in a bright yellow, the Vesta WTCC has been developed with inputs from the French racing team ORECA. Visually, the touring car championship challenger sports a purposeful hunkered-down stance with massive aerodynamic surfaces on the front and rear bumpers, rear spoiler and flared wheel arches.
The interior has not been revealed but it's obvious that it would be stripped to carry only things that are absolutely necessary.
Lada Sport, the racing wing of the manufacturer, has announced Rob Huff and James Thompson to be the pilots and Viktor Shapovalov to be the team leader. Rob Huff claimed Lada Sport's first ever podium finish earlier this month at the Argentine round of FIA WTCC 2014, driving a Lada Granta WTCC car.
