Top-end variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol mated to a 7-speed DCT.
The GAC Trumpchi GA6 sedan has been unveiled at the ongoing Guangzhou Auto Show 2014. The premium saloon is the biggest sedan from the Guangzhou based automaker.
The Trumpchi GA6 features an attractive design which, like several other Chinese cars, has hints of global brands' design traits here and there but nothing too obvious. For instance, the headlamps and grille seem to have been inspired by the new Hyundai Sonata. However, the unique chrome bonnet lip is a flavor of the country.
The sedan has a sporty stance thanks to a swooping roofline and a short overhang. The nicely executed rear fascia receives large wraparound taillights, bootlid with integrated spoiler and a chrome underlining on the bumper.
The interior is finished in black with aluminium accents on several components such as the steering wheel, gear knob, central AC vents, etc. The GA6 comes with a centre console-mounted display for the multimedia infotainment system.
The flagship model is powered by two four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines displacing 1.8- and 2.0-litres. The motors are matched to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The smaller motor belts out 177 hp while the bigger unit has a healthy 220 hp on tap.
The Trumpchi GA6 would go on sale in China later this year.
