Issue with the Glow Plug Control Module of the sedan.
Ford India has issued a recall for the Fiesta (the new generation Fiesta, not the Ford Classic), over its Glow Plug Control Module. The company is recalling 3,072 units of the sedan powered by the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine.
Affected customers are being asked to contact their local dealership to install a newly designed Glow Plug Control Module. The installation will be done free of charge. Thus far, there have been no accidents or injuries reported due to this faulty component.
It is to be noted that the Ford EcoSport was recalled for the very same component in July last year, shortly after the crossover went on sale.
The Fiesta TDCi is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine making 90 PS (88.73 bhp) and 204 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. While the sedan was offered with a 1.5-liter petrol engine as well, Ford discontinued this motor on the refreshed Fiesta which was launched in June this year.
