Ford India plans to ride high at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The company will use the platform to showcase a concept of their new global vehicle – a compact SUV based on the Fiesta platform called the Ecosport. The Ecosport has been under testing in Brazil since quite a while now and the vehicle was unveiled today in Delhi.

Powered by a 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine with a turbocharger pumping 100 horses and a 1.5 Duratorq from the new Fiesta, the Ecosport might start a compact SUV revolution in India. Accompanying the concept vehicle will be Ford India’s existing portfolio - Ford Figo, the All-New Fiesta, the Ford Classic and the Ford Endeavour.

Also at the stands will be a Ford Figo theater, essentially a modified Figo in which customers can sit inside the car and watch a film played on a plasma television in front of the windscreen. The video will explain the Figo's Smart technologies.

There will also be a game which will be played on a large LED TV coupled with motion sensing technologies. The players will collectively be able to control the vehicle as it rolls along the road, and unlock information at each bend. The display will prompt the crowd to lean left and right during a short drive as it shows highlights of the route.

A number of displays will be at the Ford stall showing the designing, developing and engineering of Ford vehicles. A Fiesta body shell also will be on display, giving visitors an opportunity to discover the engineering features that make the Fiesta safe, sturdy and secure on the road.

Oh! Don’t forget to say hi to the magician in charge entertaining the crowd and telling telling Ford's safety stories in a fun way.
