Chevrolet is showcasing the Chevrolet Tahoe RST at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. The company has received an overwhelming reaction to this model from its customers and fans in the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe RST is a special edition model of the Chevrolet Tahoe. ‘RST’ in the SUV’s name stands for ‘Rally Sport Truck’. Inspired by aftermarket modifications, RST offers a street performance look and the option of increased performance in the Tahoe. Visual changes for a sportier styling include body-colour grille surround and door handles; gloss-black grille and mirror caps; black roof rails, window trim, badging and Chevrolet bowties. The Tahoe RST has exclusive 22-inch wheels wrapped in P285/45R 22 tyres from Bridgestone.
The Chevrolet Tahoe RST employs the Chevrolet Camaro SS and Chevrolet Corvette Stingray’s L86 6.2-litre V8 engine. Producing 420 hp and 624 Nm of torque, this engine is linked to the Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. The all-new transmission is the same unit that debuted on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 earlier this year. Chevrolet estimates a towing capacity of 8,400 pounds and a 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration figure of under 6 seconds.
Available upgrades include a Borla performance exhaust system that offers a 28% improvement in exhaust flow, resulting in a 7-10 hp gain. There's also an optional brake package, featuring massive front red Brembo six-piston, fixed aluminium calipers with brake pads clamping on 410 x 32 mm Duralife rotors coupled with a 84% increase in rake pad area and a 42% increase in rotor area for increased system thermal capacity.
The Chevrolet Tahoe RST is on display at DIMS 2017 only to gauge customer interest in the Middle East. It will go on sale in the U.S. market by the end of this year.
