Acura, the luxury division of Japanese car maker Honda, is also on the show floor exhibiting its new creation as launches started piling in at the Auto Shanghai 2013. Taking the ideal route, the Japanese brand has lifted the covers off its small SUV concept, the SUV-X.
The concept symbolizes the forthcoming SUV that Acura are planning to build in about three years time in China for the Chinese market. It will be produced in large volumes for the Chinese SUV enthusiasts.
Being the first Acura to make its world premiere outside of North America, Acura alluded the designing of this concept as ‘Emotional and sharp styling’. While there is nothing much to get emotional about, the concept is curvy in every angle you look at it and certainly is unconventional. It lacks the flare that other Acura concepts had over the years.
Acura tries to make the best out of two worlds through this car by fusing together the performance of a small vehicle and utility of an SUV.
Acura and Honda are delving deep to enhance product development in the vast growing markets like China and it is yet to be seen where where the SUV-X would be positioned when the production goes live in three years time.
