Should go on sale in global markets in H2 2016.
Following the Ssangyong Tivoli from last year, Ssangyong's next major launch will be a stretched version of the same. The extended version is said to be named 'Ssangyong Tivoli XL' with a three-row, 7-seat configuration.
An earlier report said that it was going to be revealed by late-2015, but a report on Korea Joongang Daily last week quotes a spokesman confirming that the long body version will be rolled out in Korea in 2016. The report insists that it will be launched in first quarter of the year.
Spy shots of test mules reveal that the Tivoli XL will look nearly same as the Tivoli, save for the structural changes at the rear. Based on the spy shots, a speculative rendering (featured image) by IAB's rendering artist, Shoeb Kalania, previews the 7-seat Ssangyong Tivoli' design.
According to a previous report, the XL will be 300 mm longer than the Tivoli, meaning that the length will be 4,495 mm. Engine choices may include the same 115 PS (113 hp) 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel and 128 PS (126 hp) 1.6-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol units. Similarly, transmission choices should be the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic and the drivetrain layouts should include front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Launched in January last year, the Tivoli quickly became one of Korea's most talked about crossovers. In its first year on the market, 45201 units were sold, exceeding its target of 38500 units announced at the launch. The Tivoli's success helped Ssangyong post its best ever sales figure for the last 12 years.
The Ssangyong Tivoli has started testing in India and a report said that it was an Auto Expo probable.
