Honda could double the production capacity of the CB300R in India if demand soars, YS Guleria has revealed. The company has received 400 bookings for the Honda CB300R in India.

The Honda CB300R receives first-in-class features like IMU-based dual-channel ABS. It competes with the BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and Bajaj Dominar 400.

Speaking to Jaagran, Mr YS Guleria, Sr Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said:

When we announced the announcement of booking of Honda CB300R in mid-January, we got a good response. Our three-month production has been booked, but if we run a double shift in our CKD line, then we can increase its production. However, it depends entirely on demand. If the demand is high then we can double the shifts to supply as soon as possible, so that the customer will not have to wait too much.

The limited production capacity has resulted in the Honda CB300R being sold out for the next three months. Deliveries of the first batch of motorcycles will commence from March. While customers can book the CB300R at a token amount of INR 5,000, the next lot will be shipped by May 2019.

Priced at INR 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom India), the Honda CB300R is available exclusively at 22 Honda Wing World outlets across the country. Surprisingly, although being a CKD import, the CB300R undercuts the locally manufactured BMW G 310 R, which costs INR 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The CB300R competes with the BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and the Bajaj Dominar 400.

The Honda CB300R offers excellent value, considering it is imported as a CKD. The motorcycle features LED headlights, 'Neo Sports Cafe' styling, a fully-digital instrument cluster and first-in-segment IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) based dual-channel ABS, which manages the front to rear distribution of brake force. Stopping power comes from 296 mm and 220 mm petal discs at the front and back.
