Nissan has taken the wraps off the all-new Livina in Indonesia. The new generation model is a mechanical cousin of the Mitsubishi Xpander that was introduced in 2017 and under consideration for India.
The 2019 Nissan Livina has a unique front-end that focuses more on style than on the SUV character. It has a large V-Motion radiator grille flanked by two-tier headlamps. The upper lights, which are LEDs, have a boomerang signature, which like the V-Motion grille, is found in every recent Nissan model.
While the Mitsubishi Xpander has round fog lamps in a typical SUV fashion, Nissan’s offering has a rectangular design. Also, the latter features a more expressive bonnet with streaks behind the Nissan logo and the V-Motion grille. On the sides, there are distinctive 16-inch two-tone machined alloy wheels. At the rear, the L-shaped tail lamps have different graphics. The bumper design, too, is different on both models.
The 2019 Nissan Livina has black seat upholstery that is undoubtedly a step above the beige seat upholstery of the Mitsubishi Xpander as it makes the cabin look classier. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is Nissan’s own, and unlike the Mitsubishi Xpander, it offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
The 2019 Nissan Livina measures 4,510 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width and 1,695 mm in height. Under the hood, there’s a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 104 PS at 6,000 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It’s likely Mitsubishi’s 4A91 naturally aspirated unit, which offers 1 PS more in the Xpander. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are the transmission choices.
