The 2019 Mitsubishi Triton Absolute has been showcased at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show 2019.
In words of the company, the 2019 Mitsubishi Triton Absolute embodies the 'rugged, brutal and uncompromising nature' of the company's flagship pick-up truck. It features a rugged-looking exterior, which features several blacked-out bits instead of the chrome appliques on the stock version. There are even a handful of faux silver panels, including the skid plate at the front and the bumper protector at the rear. Finally, you can find some red highlights at the front as well as at the rear. Together, these updates work well to make the pick-up truck look meaner and more daunting.
While it's not apparent at first glance owing to the dark colour scheme, the lower front bumper, the flared wheel arches, the lower part of the doors and the tailgate are made up of carbon fibre. Rounding off the styling updates is an updated grille, custom fog lamp covers, and the bold branding on stamped on the tailgate.
Mechanical updates carried by the 2019 Mitsubishi Triton Absolute include an updated suspension that raises the ride height by 50 mm. The increment even enables the pick-up truck to carry bigger 18-inch black wheels shod with Falken Wildpeak M/T 285/65 off-road-spec tires. There's also a set of bigger front brake callipers that come finished in red. There's no mention about the drivetrain, but the new model is likely powered by the 4N15 2.4-litre diesel motor that outputs a maximum power of 180 PS. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units.
