Tata Motors will market the Tiago NRG as an 'urban toughroader' to target the buyers of crossover-ish hatchbacks.

Launch Date

The new Tata Tiago NRG will launch on September 12. The Tiago has been clocking an average monthly sales of 7,974 units (March 2018 -August 2018), and the top-end variant should help the carmaker add fillip to sales and margins during the festive period. The new model will become a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and the base variant of the Ford Freestyle.

Dimensions

The Tata Tiago NRG is longer, wider, and taller than the regular variants of the Tiago. It measures 3,793 mm in length, 1,665 mm in width, and 1,587 mm in height. In comparison, the standard vehicle measures 3,746 mm in width, 1,647 mm in height, and 1,535 mm in height. The disparity is purely from the new plastic parts that the Tiago NRG features. The car also benefits from a ground clearance of 180 mm, 10 mm higher than that of the regular model.

Exterior Features

The Tata Tiago NRG features a black plastic cladding around the lower section of its body. The bumpers carry a faux scuff plate each and look more rugged owing to the dual-tone look. The grille is flanked by a black-coloured trim. The black finish is extended to the ORVM housings, B-pillars, roof rails, and the roof. Furthermore, the new model gets smoked projector headlamps, new dual-tone four-spoke alloy wheels, and black trim for the tailgate.
