Nissan has launched the 2018 Nissan Micra and 2018 Nissan Micra Active in India at prices starting from INR 6.2 lakhs and INR 5.03 lakhs, ex-Showroom, respectively. The updated hatchback has started arriving at dealerships and images come from reader Ujjwal Saxena.
On the outside, the 2018 Micra and Micra Active are unchanged save for the addition of turn indicators on the ORVMs, and the top-end Micra petrol CVT gets a spoiler. The 2018 Micra twins offer dual front airbags as standard (Nissan earlier offered only a driver's side airbag on the entry-level variants). The hatchbacks also receive a driver’s seatbelt warning indicator, a speed warning chime and rear parking sensors as standard.
The top-end Micra XV and Micra Active XV are equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink. It is to be noted that the Micra Fashion Edition, launched as a limited run model in September 2017, featured this unit as well.
There are no changes to the mechanicals of the Micra or Micra Active. The former is available with petrol and diesel engines. The petrol is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder capable of 77 hp and 104 Nm of torque paired to a CVT. The diesel uses the Renault K9K 1.5-liter four-cylinder developing 64 hp and 160 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Micra Active is available only with the 1.2-liter petrol de-tuned to produce 68 hp, and features a 5-speed manual gearbox only.

According to Nissan's plan for India, there may not be successors for the Micra and Micra Active as the company will sell only Datsun products in the INR sub-10 lakh category.
