A steady stream of leaks has revealed almost all there is to know about the fourth generation Suzuki Jimny. An image of the brochure shared by Facebook page Ferd, reveals the variant-wise pricing of the new Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki Jimny Sierra for the Japanese market.
Suzuki will offer the Jimny in XG, XL, and XC grades and the Jimny Sierra in JL and JC grades. The most accessible variant will be the Suzuki Jimny XG 5MT 4WD carrying a sticker price of JPY 1,458,000 (INR 9,02,189.91). The automatic variant with a 4-speed gearbox is priced JPY 97,200 (INR 60,145.99) higher at JPY 1,555,200 (INR 9,62,335.90). The range-topping Jimny 4WD manual and automatic are priced at JPY 1,744,200 (INR 10,79,286.44) and JPY 1,841,400 (INR 11,39,432.44) respectively.

The Suzuki Jimny Sierra range starts from JPY 1,760,400 (INR 10,89,310.78) for the JL 5-speed MT 4WD variant. In its fully loaded JC spec with 4-speed AT and 4WD, the Jimny Sierra will cost JPY 2,019,600 (INR 12,49,700.09).

There is price difference of JPY 178,200 (INR 1,10,267.66) between the Jimny and Jimny Sierra when compared spec-to-spec.
The primary difference between the Jimny and Jimny Sierra is the engine. The former gets a 660 cc 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, while the latter employs a higher capacity, 1.5 L 4-cylinder petrol. Both variants share 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options and standard part-time 4WD. Visually, the Sierra features additional protective cladding around wheel arches, wider tires, and a different set of alloy wheels.

With the launch of the fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny programmed in July, production is already underway in Japan. Also, the company has commenced shipping units of the off-road vehicle to dealerships. The 2019 Suzuki Jimny is likely to start reaching global markets from early next year and eventually reach Indian shores.
