PSA Group will enter the Indian market in 2019. It plans to launch the Citroen C5 Aircross as the first-ever Citroen model in India. Here are some live images of the Citroen C5 Aircross from its European premiere in France last month.
The C5 Aircross’ design is inspired by the Citroen Aircross Concept that was unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2015. It doesn’t look angular like and as dynamic as the Peugeot 3008, but its offbeat funky design would still make heads turn. Two-tier full-LED headlamps, coloured inserts on the front bumper, 19-inch wheels, Airbump with coloured insert on the front doors, curvaceous wraparound tail lamps with four 3D LED modules on each side, dual chrome tailpipes and two-tone roof bars are some of the key design elements.
The Citroen C5 Aircross’ interior is high on style and technology. It gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster makes, which is feature usually seen in products a segment or two above. Housed between the central air vents is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring a touchstrip control. Also worth noting are the three individual sliding, folding and reclining rear seats that offer MPV-like convenience.
Underpinned by the EMP2 modular platform, the Citroen C5 Aircross is claimed to offer top-flight comfort and driving pleasure. The C-SUV measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,670 mm (with roof bars) in height. It has a 2,730 mm wheelbase and a 230 mm ground clearance. It offers 580 litres/720 litres of boot space, which is expandable to 1,630 litres. Citroen will offer two petrol engines and three diesel engines as listed below:
- PureTech 130 S&S petrol engine with 6-speed manual transmission
- PureTech 180 S&S EAT8 petrol engine with EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission
- BlueHDi 130 diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission
- BlueHDi 130 S&S diesel engine with EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission
- BlueHDi 180 S&S diesel engine with EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission
