The Tata Tigor Electric was recently spotted in Mumbai by Motor Octane reader Pratish. Tata Motors had showcased the new electric sedan at Auto Expo 2018 last month.
Tata Motors started delivering the Tata Tigor Electric to EESL at the end of last year. EESL, a JV of Public Sector Units under the Ministry of Power, is sourcing the electric car to supply to government departments and PSUs. It has started delivering the EVs and is showcasing it at government events.
The Tata Tigor Electric is powered by a 30 kW electric motor coupled to a single-speed automatic transmission. A 216 Ah, 72 V battery is the power source of this electric motor. Charging it from 0% to 80% using a normal charger takes 360 minutes (6 hours). However, using a fast charger, the charging time reduces to just 90 minutes (1.5 hours). The Tata Tigor Electric has a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of 130 km.
