Now powered by a 197 hp 1.5L three cylinder EcoBoost engine.
The all new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST has made its world debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show today. It will officially launch across European markets in early 2018.
The highlight is its engine underneath the hood. It's the first Ford Performance vehicle to pack a three cylinder EcoBoost engine. Specifically, it's a 1.5L three cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine that outputs 197 hp and 290 Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission offering in the Fiesta ST. It is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Even with the fuel efficient nature of three cylinder engine, the Fiesta ST's 1.5 EcoBoost comes equipped with cylinder deactivation, which shuts of one cylinder.
Another new feature of the next gen Fiesta ST is the drive-mode selector, which allows drivers to select modes such as Normal, Sport, and Track modes, each of which alters the engine mapping, traction control, electronic stability control, exhaust sound, interior sound, and power steering. It also has a brake-based torque vectoring system.
Apart from the features sourced from the regular Fiesta, the new ST variant gets Recaro seats, a new mesh grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, Sync 3 infotainment, an optional B&O Play sound system, and the exclusive option of Liquid Blue exterior paint developed sourced from the Ford GT.
